Pre-Req’s: Licensed Massage Therapist

Ashi-Thai is an expression of traditional Thai stretches that have been modified utilizing the overhead bar system and therapists’ body so no heavy lifting or bending occurs at the waist. This flowing and rhythmic approach to Thai massage was developed for Ashiatsu therapists seeking to expand their barefoot knowledge and add more strokes to their Ashi tool bag.  Ashi-Thai techniques can easily be incorporated into a regular Ashiatsu session or can also be considered as a stand-alone 2 hour Thai Massage Treatment.

The Ashi-Thai workshop has been divided into two different modules, the posterior module & the anterior module. The combination of techniques has been arranged following traditional Thai energy lines and stretches for elongating and relieving tightness in commonly used muscle groups. Clients usually feel more range of motion, less tension and an overall sense of balance and well-being. At the end of this course, you will have a unique new skill set that your clients will be extremely impressed with.

This course is a 25-hour NCBTMB approved course. Practice logs and quiz will be required to received completion of hours. You will receive a detailed manual with pictures and stroke breakdown, in addition to video instruction that includes anterior & posterior ashi thai protocols. You will have 90 days to complete the course in order to receive full CE credit.

This is not a typical home study massage course that only involves a written manual and video instruction. Our course meets that standards of a true E Learning experience where students will log into a private secure online platform and follow a detailed course outline and are tested on each lesson before they are able to move onto the following module. Most students will spend approximately 3-4 hours on our lecture portion of class before viewing the ashi thai video instruction. Our number one goal is safety for both the therapist and the client. Making sure you have an understanding of proper bar construction, contraindications and body mechanics is key to delivering a safe and productive Ashi Thai treatment.

Documented practice sessions are required to complete our e learning courses and receive full CE credit. What sets our E Learning Course apart from others is that our course content is delivered in a fashion that is interesting, challenging and most importantly holds students accountable for learning and retaining the content so that you can practice Ashiatsu effectively and successfully beyond your time with us.
